Stakeholders okay relocation of Ikeja Computer Village

The plan to relocate the popular Computer Village in Ikeja Lagos to Katangowa area of Agbado Oke - Odo Local Council Development Area has been endorsed by stakeholders in the computer village community . This was after a stakeholders’ meeting where issues affecting the project were resolved , a statement on Monday said . According to the statement, the meeting attended by heads of plazas, officials of trade associations and representatives of the ethnic groups at the market , was an opportunity to resolve the internal wrangling that had slowed down the movement to the new site since April , when the agreement was signed between the Lagos State Government and Bridgeways, the developer. Apart from endorsing the project , the stakeholders also appointed Mr Ademola Olaifa as the interim chairman and Osy Ijeomah as secretary of the committee setup at the venue to act as a bridge between Bridgeways Global Projects Limited and the village community . BREAKING: 43 die as bus carrying pilgrims plunges into valley

A bus carrying pilgrims from a temple in southern India on Tuesday veered off the road and plunged into a valley killing 43 people , an official said . “ We have pulled out the bodies and we are taking them to the hospital for autopsy , ” B . Rajesham , a senior administrative official told AFP . Passengers who survived the accident in Telangana state are being treated for injuries.

Russia on Tuesday launched what it has called its largest every military drills , with hundreds of thousands of Russian troops taking part along with Chinese soldiers in a massive show of force that has rattled the West . Two killed in fresh Plateau attack

Two persons were killed by gunmen in a Thursday morning attack at Nding Suisut Village of Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau. DSP Terna Tyopev, the Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau, confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Jos that two persons were also injured in the attack . “ This morning at about 6 : 30 pm , we received a distress call that gunmen shot some persons at Nding Suisut Village of Barkin Ladi . “ Armed Police personnel were immediately dispatched to the area , but on arrival at the scene , four persons were seen with wounds from gunshots. “ We rushed them to the General Hospital in the locality where the doctor on duty confirmed two out of the four victims dead . “ The remaining two are currently receiving treatment at the same hospital and in a stable condition , ” he said . At least eight out of the politicians working for the re - election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 2019 election have pending corruption cases worth N 232bn , checks by Saturday Investigation by our correspondents showed that the amount involved in the various graft cases , which are currently pending before security agencies , especially the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, range from N 223m to N 100bn for each of the politicians . Ukraine said Saturday it had jailed a man who plotted an assassination attempt against a Russian journalist who sparked a worldwide outcry earlier this year by faking his own murder. Ukraine security chief Vassyl Grytsak said a Kiev court had on Thursday sentenced Borys German , a Ukrainian citizen , to four- and- a - half years in prison after he was found guilty of helping to plot an attempt on the life of anti -Kremlin reporter Arkady Babchenko .
