An American man and his wife have been convicted of murdering his ex - wife , who was also the mother of his two young sons . The court heard how Grant and Amanda Hayes killed Laura Ackerson , cut her body into pieces and attempted to dissolve the remains in acid, while they threw her dismembered body parts into an alligator- infested creek in order to get rid of the evidence , Huffington Post reports. The Nigerian Bar Association on Friday rejected President Muhammadu Buhari ’ s comment that national security takes precedence over the rule of law. The President had made the comment while declaring open the 58th Annual General Conference of the NBA on Sunday. The conference , on Friday, culminated in the inauguration of NBA’ s new President , Mr . Paul Usoro, Senior Advocate of Nigeria , and other newly elected national officers of the association. Usoro, who became the 29th President of the association took over from Mr . Abubakar Mahmoud ( SAN) , who with his team had piloted the affairs of the association for two years . Jamaican sprint legend, Usain Bolt has made his first appearance as a professional footballer in a pre-season friendly in Australia today. Bolt, who has been trianing with Australia's A-League club Central Coast Mariners since last week, debuted against an amateur side at the club's stadium in Gosford, 80km north of Sydney, in front of more than 12,000 people. Bolt took on the field with a smile in the 71st minute, wearing jersey number 95, after the crowd chanted "We want Bolt". The Mariners had already scored six goals by the time Bolt came on as a left winger. Before now, the 100 and 200-metre world record holder Bolt ended his running career last year and has been trying to start a new career as a professional footballer, trialling with German, Norwegian and South African teams.

The Osun State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress is beginning a three-day warning strike today, Wednesday, August 29, to press home their demands for the payment of the arrears of modulated salaries of workers as well as pensions and gratuities of the retirees. The NLC Chairman in Osun State, Jacob Adekomi, said that the Congress had declared the strike following the expiration of an ultimatum given to the state government to commence payment of the outstanding salaries. Adekomi said,  “we are starting three-day warning strike tomorrow. We are embarking on this strike because of the salary arrears as well as gratuities of pensioners. The government also owes its own part of the contributory pension deductions and 2016 leave allowances. We issued an ultimatum earlier and this is the next option. The government started modulated salaries in July  2015 and they have paid the balance of three months of the  modulated salaries since that time.”   ...

It was gathered that the actor had missed his flight to Abuja, after arriving the airport late and he got angry. 19-year-old Jabulile  Omuhle  Nkosi from Windmill Park Boksburg, South Africa was allegedly hacked to death by her boyfriend with an axe last week.  The suspect,  Atoro Hector Molapi Thabo  reportedly arrested last Sunday, while trying to decapitate her and hide the body.
